II. Speed requirements
According to Table 29.2, the rate at which the two electrodes move from contact to separation during the test is 2.5 mm/s or 5.0 mm/s, and the separation is to the specified distance. See Gap column in the above table. A motor is required to control the movement of one electrode and 2 speed adjustments.
